Hey there. My name is Milan and I’m all about eating right and fun. I live in California and growing up with Indian food and cooking it at home I began to realize that if you wanted to buy good Indian spices, the options were pretty bad. The stores and online markets were selling poorly constructed Masala blends that was full of mysterious product, expired shelf life or it was a blend that was far from authentic and lacked flavor. Most of the blends required the use of a lot of masala in your dishes to bring out flavor.
A few years ago I decided to start making my own Garam Masala, Curry Masala and Tandoori Masala. I experimented like a madman multiple times until taste was perfect. I ultimately wanted a spice blend that was organic, full of high quality premium spices with no salt that could be used in small amounts with a lot of flavor. I kept making these blends for family and friends and decided to share this passion with you hence the Crown Jewel Spice Company.
There is a diverse applicability of these spices in all sorts of cultural dishes from around the world. Nearly most cultural dishes use some of these Masala blends to one degree or another in Indian, Pakistani, Mexican, Thai, Chinese, Mediterranean, Middle Eastern, Malaysian, Burmese and Japanese.
What am I doing with the Crown Jewel Spice Company? I want to give you the best quality handmade masala blends.
Why do I only have three spice blends? I focus on these three spice blends to make sure they are the best. I am not here to sell a variety of flavors. If you want damn good Tandoori, Curry and Garam Masala, then use mine.
What’s my favorite Indian dish? Okra Sabzi, “Bindu nu Shak” or simply stir-fried Okra Indian style is my favorite dish. California grows a good amount of Okra and I’m there to eat it. At the most basic level it uses Garam Masala, extra cumin, ginger, garlic, onions and of course okra. Yum.
