Spices brings food to life. I am captured by the amazing varieties of spices that exist. Drying out seeds, fruits, leaves and nuts and using it as a precision based chemistry experiment to enhance our food, bodies and the air around us has got to be one of mother natures best gifts.
Since mankind has been writing, we have incorporated spices into our history. Spices have been written in old legends and texts such as Gilgamaesh, the Bhagavad Gita, Mahabharat, Bible, Koran and other ancient books . Food historians and archeologists have found spices within Egyptian tombs of high society burials. The medics of ancient worlds used spices to cure ailments and yet today herbal remedies are becoming more profound as an alternative to mainstream medication.
The spice blends that I put together have been cherished by my family and friends for some time. The Garam Masala brings warmth, the Tandoori Masala brings a smoky heat and the Curry Masala brings an exotic taste of Asia. I bottle these as they are ordered to preserve the flavor.
It’s with a lot of enthusiasm and excitement that I share these with you. Hope you have great experiences eating the food that is cooked with these spices.
